Well, I haven't posted in a while, because the day after my last post (2/27) I ended up calling 911 as Will was not eating, was acting lethargic and was not doing well. We were taken by ambulance to Children's Hospital, spent 6hrs in the Emergency room and eventually we were admitted to the Pediatric ICU (PICU) and Will was put on the ventilator. He was diagnosed with RSV (which for adults would just be a common cold). He stayed in the hospital 6 days until 3/4. We were so glad to get him home that day....but then Drew got sick (he had been sick for a few days prior) and started to take 20 second "pauses" in his breathing, so we went back to the Children's ER and then Drew was also admitted to the PICU and ventilated. Drew had a tougher time with the virus and was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. He came home this last Sunday, 3/16.
So it has been a tough past 3 weeks for us. Taylor spent EVERY night at the hospital sleeping on a very uncomfortable fold out bed/chair, and I spent days. Fortunately, we had lots of help and support from our families and friends who were able to help us out by having nannies come to watch the babies while we were at the hospital, bring meals, and pray for us.
We are very thankful to God that everyone is now home and healthy. We are looking forward to having a completely non eventful weekend where we can all just relax as a family, get rest, and get back to "normal" life with twins!
Here is a little video of the boys from Wednesday afternoon:
